Microsoft Life: Sharing Expertise.

-          Looking to connect with Microsoft technology specialists globally?

-          Want to share best practice around leading edge Microsoft solutions?

-          Need to satisfy your hunger for learning?

-          Keen to showcase your talents and gain peer recognition?

Campus – Microsoft internal IT networking community

This has been one of the most important experiences I ever had in Microsoft, and allow me to think more seriously about my future evolution and areas of improvement.

There is nothing more important to our business than developing our people. The CAB is a great forum for giving feedback and guiding our most senior delivery professionals in their careers.”

The CAB makes me proud to work for MSFT. It sends a strong signal to employees that management makes a substantial investment in career development.”

Microsoft’s internal networking community ‘Campus’ delivers all of this and more. Open exclusively to existing employees of Microsoft, Campus provides a multitude of ways to help Microsoft employees learn about latest technology releases, showcase their talents globally and advance their careers.

This networking and career planning forum is invaluable and helps ‘Microsofties’ accelerate their learning and career development to achieve unparalleled success:

-          Careers Advisory Board (CAB) – identify areas for personal growth / development

-          Shared global technology expertise & release roadmaps

-          Build global connections

-          Access to shared White Papers, training materials, SME’s and solution case studies

-          Receive peer assistance via technology forums

-          Self-study learning and support for latest technology releases

-          Become a true Microsoft SME

So what else do we do at Microsoft? Well, there’s the bi-annual ‘Tech Ready’ conference in the US to highlight key technology advances and future plans for Microsoft, and a UK-centric Tech Ready event called ‘Community Connect’ among other initiatives…

Community Connect

“What an awesome event, what can I say…….quite simply the best ever community connect.  Thank you so much, simply stunning”

“Ability to meet others in similar roles and to share knowledge and experience”

“It was a great success – we even had people from outside the MCS CRM team”

Community Connect is a full day event held twice-yearly, with all Technical Consultants in the UK Consulting Services business coming together in Reading to connect with their peers, share expertise and learn about developments at Microsoft. This also provides Consultants with an excellent opportunity for face-to-face networking time with their peers.

This technology-centric event includes keynote presentations, round table events, cross-collaboration and specific areas of focus for each technical discipline. The events carry two themes each year, focusing either on building technical depth OR breadth of skills within the Microsoft portfolio, which is an excellent way to aid learning and development, building your expertise…

Want to get involved?

If you’re as passionate about technology as we are and keen to satisfy your hunger for knowledge and further learning, Microsoft is the place for you. We’ve got the expertise, and we know how to share it – this in turn gives you an excellent springboard to maximize your potential and the best possible chance to achieve your ambitions.

Interested? Get involved – it all starts with collaborative networking so join me on Linkedin to start receiving job notifications or send me your latest CV: v-sawool@microsoft.com
